So yeah, our once so (fixed gear)-bike theft safe days appear to be over.

A while ago Sven’s bike got stolen from his basement when a determined bike thieve broke into his shed to only steal his bike.
At first this appeared to be one time thing, but recently John’s rear wheel got stolen from his bike while his bike was parked outside, in front of his house.
Hmm.. “funny” coincidence that both the thefts were based in the same area you might think.

However, yesterday my friend Perry stopped by with a sad face, saying both his wheels were stolen from his bike, while being locked!
And he happens to live around the corner where John lives. This can’t be a coincidence anymore. The thief must be known with fixed gear, else he wouldn’t have stolen a fixed rear wheel. The guy who stole Sven’s bike for example was shot on camera whilst riding the bike.

So this is basically a warning for not only the people who live in north, but to all people in general and specifically for Lot van B. who still parks her bike outside all night! We told you before that this is not a good idea and especially when the bike thief operates in the North area…

I say, let’s put a beater bike somewhere in North and park it outside as “bait”, wait till the thief shows up and show him some proper U-lock love.

Anyone up for it? I know Ashley and Frank from Amsterdam are coming to hook up with Foek and John. Lawrence is in town. Jorrit has bragging rights about his first days as a messenger. Baschz needs to prove he’s still able to ride a fixie. And the list goes on and on.

March 28th there will be a fixed gear trick contest presented by Pignon Fixe.
I signed up already… If more people are considering going there, not necessarily to enter the contest but maybe just for the sake of a nice trip, let me know. I’m sorting out a travel plan anytime soon…

Hi dear riders, boyz and girlz,

My friend Tomy and I are riding track bike since few years now and came into bending wheels, pinching tires, scratching frames, breaking peadals… Yes we are doing tricks on fixed gear bikes and we love it so much that we finally decided to make an event in Paris in order to support the local scene, riders and fixie industry.

As a first edit, this event has not for a purpose to gather all international event but we would be of course glad to welcome guest rider from abroad. The main purpose is to figure out what the fixie street is in France and what it will be tomorrow. So people feel free to join for the big fest on March 28^th.

The contest consist in two main categories:

Tricks (is on the ground) and Street (more aerial). Riders cane sign in both categories of course.

Seriously… this plaza is the bizz.
Wallrides, banks, shitload ledges, handrails, a park, polo-field, it’s all there, all banks and ledges are to be found in a variety of heights.
We sessioned till around 19.00 today with Oli and John. Did some wall to wallrides, hop bars in the bank, feeble grinds to one handed wheelie, feeble grinds to hard 180, pedalgrinds and some other random stuff.
It was a good day! (without breaking anything!) … except for a flat on our way back.

The ECMC 2010 will be held in Budapest, Hungary, between 22-24 May, 2010 (Pentecost weekend). The races will take place on two different locations in the city, on the Millenaris Velodrome (22 May) and in the Csepel Művek (23-24 May).
